For high school girls and college women, cheerleading is more dangerous than any other sport, according to a new report that adds several previously reported cases of serious injury to a growing list.
High school cheerleading accounted for 65.1 percent of all catastrophic sports injuries among high school females over the past 25 years, according to an annual report released Monday by the National Sports Center for Catastrophic Injury Research.

Video games not art

Having once made up the investigation, have declined every opportunity to expand on it or defend it. That seems to be nonsense, especially given the volume of messages I receive calls me to play this game or to retract and the error of my ways. However, I remain convinced that, in principle, no video games can be art. Maybe it's silly of me to say never, because never, as Rick Wakeman tells us, is a long, long time. Let me say that no video player now living will survive long enough to experience the medium as an art form.
What drives me back on track? It was powered by a reader, Mark Johns, to review a video of a TED talk given at USC by Kellee Santiago, a designer and producer of video games. So I did. I immediately warmed to Santiago. She is bright, safe, convincing. But he is wrong.

Summer: U Street begins the film in the series May 24

The U Street film series returns with a second season, which starts May 24 with Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Doors open at 7 pm at the Recreation Center of Harrison in the 1300 block of V Street NW - the same time for each film.
A total of six films will be shown, one each month from May to October (the final film will be on the inside). The films will be held on Tuesday night with a rain date the following Thursday. Full schedule is below the fold.

And the production of the Dark Tower finally gets underway, all our hopes may be dashed again. There is a rumor going around that Universal Studios is about to abandon the project due to budget problems!
Although Universal and Ron Howard, Imagine Entertainment are denying the rumor, Mike Fleming (Term) believes that there is some truth behind it as all pre-production staff have been told to stop working. Discussion between all parties is the time course, but just knowing if they will find a way to proceed. With all the tools of falls is hard to believe that the beginning of September will go ahead as planned, despite what happens next.

Hollywood star Nicolas Cage - known for films such as Leaving Las Vegas, Face to Face, The Quest, and Ghost Rider - was found in a little trouble with the law in the early hours of Saturday, when he was arrested and booked for battery of abuse among other things domestic.
According to eonline.com Nessif Bruna, the arrest is reported to have arrived after Cage was caught arguing loudly with his wife on a street in New Orleans. The local police department said both Cage and his wife were standing outside a residence that he insisted they were for hire.

A chase sequence is a common feature of both suspense and action and adventure movies. It is a tool successfully used by the video and filmmakers world wide. The purpose is to capture the viewer's attention, both emotionally and psychologically. We designed a sequence of persecution and made that you can produce. Pre-production is done for you, all you have to do is follow the script figure.
Our chase sequence consists of multiple planes, angles and assembly techniques in a one-minute video. Spoken dialogue is not necessary that the sequence. Natural sound is used. If you have the equipment, the addition of a music track can increase the suspense drama of the piece.

At first, the video game universe was a simple place, filled with the most basic of adolescent fantasy, sports, fighting ghosts and aliens, and, of course, driving fast cars. Well, sort of driving cars.
The first arcade driving game, Atari "Gran Trak 10," debuted in 1974, just two years after "Pong." It was a single-player competitive racing against the clock in the driver maneuvered the icon of a race car on a single track 2-dimensional. Primitivo sure - the graphics were laughing - but they do have a real driver on the steering wheel and shifter 3 speed. Still, the driving experience was not exciting or, for that matter, about real life.

I've been a fan of fighting games for a very long time, but my interest wanes for a couple of years around 2006. When the recent resurgence of 2D fighters captured my interest, I began to learn more about the 11th I had lost combatants. As a result, do not miss much, but the notes I made during the search continued to grow until I had written a time-line statements fairly complete 2D fighter,
